Morpurgo Class Worship…We are Jesus’ Disciples

On Wednesday, Morpurgo class led us in our whole school worship.  We heard the Bible story of the Good Samaritan and listened to how we are all Disciples of Jesus. The children spoke so passionately about how we can follow in the footsteps of Jesus, carrying out God’s mission of loving our neighbour; caring for those struggling and less fortunate than us.

It was lovely welcoming parents, families & friends Into school to share in our worship 🕯

Year 4 Retreat Day June 2022

Cafod's Walk for Water

Today each class walked a mile (16 laps) around the playground in support of Cafod's Walk for Water Appeal.  The children carried large containers of water to help empathise with those people in communities who have to do this every day in search of fresh water.  The children showed great compassion whilst walking and were eager to think of ways we could further help these communities.

Thank you for the donations you have sent in so far.

A Million Children Praying the Rosary

Each class spent some quiet and reflective time praying the Rosary.  Each time we pray the Rosary, we spend time thinking about a special time in Jesus and Mary's life.  The children prayed so respectfully and their responses to the prayer stations were thoughtful and meaningful.

Visit to Ladywell

Our year five and six class enjoyed visited Ladywell today with schools from our cluster.  The children enjoyed sharing mass with children from other school and enjoyed experienceing prayer in different environments.  As usual, the children were reverent and spiritual during their time at Ladywell.

May Procession

Our first Holy Communion children gathered together this Sunday to show their devotion to Our Lady.  Each May we join with The Willow's to process around the church gardens and crown the statue of Mary.

First Holy Communion

Please keep our First Holy Communion children in your thoughts as they prepare to make their First Holy Communion this weekend.  The children have been getting ready, with their parents over the last few weeks, as they begin their journey of faith.

Kirkham Club Day

Each June the school joins in a procession with the Parish of The Holy Cross and the other churches of Kirkham and Wesham. This is a fun filled family day with a long tradition of bringing the Churches in the towns together. The processions sees banners, brass bands and floats journey through the main streets of Kirkham and Wesham ending in a service at each of the churches.

This year we didn't let the torrential rain dampen our spirits and we walked proudly through the streets with smiles on our faces!

Year 6 Year of Mercy Pilgrimage

Our year 6 children, together with other primary schools from our diocese, took part in a Year of Mercy pilgrimage around Lancaster. Pope Francis said, 'This is the time to allow our hearts to be touched.' As they made their way through the holy door of the cathedral, they opened our hearts to mercy. Throughout the day, the children said and listened to prayers and reflections.
