Our school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. We expect all staff, visitors and volunteers to share this commitment.

If you have concerns regarding the safeguarding or welfare of any pupils, please contact Mrs Freeman (Designated Safeguarding Lead), or Mrs Wyke (Back-up Designated Lead) or Mrs Gilfoyle (Back-up Designated Lead).

St. Joseph’s Catholic Primary School participates in Operation Encompass. Following the report of an incident or domestic abuse, school will be advised that the child has been involved. Please see the school website for further details.

SEND

We, at St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School, are committed to exercising our best endeavours to meet the special educational needs of pupils to ensure that they can achieve the best possible educational and other outcomes. In line with our mission statement, 'Our school is a safe, happy place where every child is cherished, respected and valued.  We inspire and guide each other to be the best that we can be.'

Every teacher is a teacher of every child, including those with SEND. To address the requirement for specialist support, whilst we do not currently have a member of our teaching staff with the qualifications to carry out the role of SENCO, we are using the services of a local Counselling and Education Specialist. For further information please contact the Headteacher, Mrs Louise Freeman.
